Mepco New Connection Procedure

The process of getting a new connection for your mepco power meter is simple and quick. Our online method makes it easy to send in your application and see how it’s going.

Upload scanned copies of the following documents:
(a) Proof of ownership.
(b) Undertaking by the applicant.
(c) Power of attorney in case of more than one owner.
(d) No Objection Certificate (NOC) in case the applicant is a tenant.
(e) Attested copy of applicant’s CNIC.
(f) Attested copies of CNIC of two witnesses (not required in case of single phase connection)
(g) A copy of the concerned tariff duly signed by the consumer.
Submit Application
Please review all details thoroughly after completing the form and uploading the necessary documents. Click the Submit button when you are satisfied. Usually, a confirmation message or email will let you know your application has been received.
Obtain a Printed Copy of the Application Form
Once you submit the application form, download and print a paper copy of it. You will need this for your personal records and when physically handing in your papers.
Include Necessary Papers with the Printed Form

- Printed copies of every document you uploaded online
Make sure the papers are clearly labeled and neatly ordered. For simplicity of processing, attachments should follow the same sequence as indicated in Step 1.
Forward the Application to the Relevant Office
Send the entire application package (printed form + attachments) to the pertinent local office of the power provider (Customer Care Center or Sub-Divisional Office). Depending on the company’s policies, you may either deliver it in person or by courier.
Get the Demand Notice
The power company will send a Demand Notice after examining and confirming your form. This document lists the costs of the MEPCO new connection, service fees, security deposit, and installation.
Please proceed to the designated bank to pay the demand notice.
Please take the Demand Notice to the authorized bank listed on the document. Please ensure the full amount is paid and kindly have the bank stamp and sign your copy of the paid notice as proof of payment.
Send the Office Paid Demand Notice
Please provide the bank-stamped, paid copy of the Demand Notice to the same office where you submitted your application. This verifies your fulfillment of all payment requirements.
Installation of Meters
Your request will go to the last stage once the office confirms your payment. The power provider will arrange for a technician to come to your site. We will set up your MEPCO New connection accordingly. Workload and regional office policies will determine timeframes.

What is the estimated timeframe for the new meter connection with Mepco? The category of the link determines it. Mepco classifies electric supply connections into three broad types based on load.
Category 1: (15 kW or less)
Here are the steps to getting a category-1 connection, along with an estimated number of days:

Category 2 (16–70 kW/400 volts)
While the steps to get a category-2 mepco new connection are quite similar to those for a category-1 connection, the total time it takes to finish the process can be up to 44 days.
Category 3 (71–500 kW/400 volts)
Although the procedures for category 3 mepco new connection are identical to those for categories 1 and 2, the maximum time allowed between the date of application submission and the date of meter installation is 73 days.
